Heat Pump Hot Water Valentine
Heat pump hot water in Valentine heats your tank with warmth drawn from the outside air, so it uses much less power than a standard electric element. We price the whole install as a fixed figure and can connect a temporary hot water tank while your new unit is on its way.
Where this fits. The hot water hub covers whether to repair or replace any system, and this page deals with heat pumps only. For everything else we do, see the plumber in Valentine home page.

Why do homes here suit a heat pump?
A compressor and a small fan pull heat out of the surrounding air and pass it into the water, the same principle as a fridge but in the other direction.
Mild winters
Big households
Tired old units

What does the install involve?
The install runs in four steps:
- 1
Site check
We look at where the current tank sits, how air moves around the proposed spot and where the condensate can drain.
- 2
Old tank out
The storage tank is isolated, emptied and carted away.
- 3
New unit in
The heat pump goes on its base, the water connections are made to the existing pipes, and the condensate line runs to an approved drain point.
- 4
Commissioning
We put the unit through a full heating cycle, check the temperature at the taps and show you the controls.
What shapes the install price?
We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead.
Four points move it:
- The size of the tank A larger household needs a bigger unit, and the price of the unit rises with it.
- Where it goes Setting the new unit where the old tank stood is simpler than moving it to another wall, which adds pipe and labour.
- The power supply If the supply needs upgrading first, an electrician does that part, and we raise it before you commit.
- Taking the old tank away Draining, removing and disposing of the old unit is included in the price.

Heat pump questions from around the lake
Is a heat pump hot water unit worth it in Valentine's climate?
It suits it well. Area weather records show frost here less than one day a year, and a heat pump keeps its efficiency in mild, damp winters because it draws heat from the air rather than burning anything. It uses less power than an element tank, and you know the install price before we start.
Can a heat pump replace my old electric storage tank?
In a lot of cases, yes. The brick-veneer houses built here from the late 1980s may still have their first electric tank, and a heat pump can take its place on the same water connections. We look at the spot, the airflow and the power supply first, then price the change.
Does the salt air near the lake affect a heat pump?
It can. Blocks near the shore get brackish air on anything metal left outside, so the position and a sheltered spot matter for how long the unit lasts. We go through both when we quote, and the install carries our 365-day warranty on all work.
How long does a heat pump install take?
Swapping onto the old tank's position is the quicker job, because the water pipes are already there. Moving the unit to a new spot, or needing an electrician to upgrade the power supply first, adds time, and either one is raised before you agree to anything.
